Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for St. Louis, Missouri!

Downtown or around town there is always something to keep you busy in St. Louis, from a picnic in one of the many parks to gambling on one of the riverboat casinos. St. Louis is also home to three professional sports teams, Cardinals baseball, Rams football and Blues hockey. On the west side of the Mississippi River, across from East St. Louis, Illinois, the western "Gateway" of St. Louis defines the exact center of the country, with Eero Saarinen's famous steel arch towering 600 feet over the Mississippi River, paying tribute to America's westward expansion and marking where the East ends and the West begins. The entire city can be viewed from the top of the arch, and the Museum of Westward Expansion in the same park as the arch and old St. Louis courthouse where the Dred Scott trials were held, and all part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, contains the original teepees, war bonnets, medals and relics of the Sioux Indians, as well as exhibits documenting the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

The variety of immigrant communities in St. Louis, around 80 separate ethnic neighborhoods have been identified, mirrors that of the nation, because most of the American migration from east to west went through St. Louis. The barbeque beef and pork cuisine of St. Louis comes from the earliest settlers who were largely German and Irish. Both the World's Fair (subtitled that year the Louisiana Puchase Exposition) and the Olympic Games were hosted by St. Louis in 1904, and the popular song "Meet Me in St. Louie, Louie" was inspired by these events. Enjoy the best in American culture from one of the familiar full-service chain hotels downtown, or in one of the many smaller affiliated franchises along the interstate, or better still try one of the ethnic family-run bed and breakfast lodges distributed throughout the area.
